The U.S. Navy has ended the search for a sailor from the USS George Washington after he was reported overboard while the ship was sailing north of Australia. The sailor went missing on Monday in the Timor Sea. The search efforts involving the George Washington, its carrier strike group, and Australian authorities concluded on Wednesday. Lt. Cmdr. Mark Langford expressed condolences on behalf of the USS George Washington and mentioned that support services are being provided to the crew during this difficult time. The sailor’s name is being withheld until next-of-kin notification is completed.
