Shedeur Sanders on Browns’ third-stringers: A Close Look

In May, Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski stated that fans should not read too much into Shedeur Sanders not getting the first snaps at rookie minicamp.

However, as training camp commences, the Colorado alum’s snaps are primarily with the backup players.

Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel have all taken snaps with the starters, leaving Sanders, who unexpectedly fell to the fifth round of the NFL Draft, waiting for his opportunity.

Sanders is currently mainly working with the third-string players.

During camp, Sanders expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and his belief in his abilities, despite not getting as many chances as he may have liked.

Once considered a top five selection, Sanders experienced an unexpected fall in the draft. Despite this, he remains positive and focused on the opportunity ahead.

The Browns’ first preseason game is scheduled for Aug. 8 against the Carolina Panthers. As Deshaun Watson recovers from a twice-torn Achilles, the Browns’ four quarterbacks are putting in the work during training camp.
