Jacob Fatu emerged as a rising star for WWE in the past year, ultimately clinching the United States Championship by defeating LA Knight at WrestleMania.

However, his escalating fame and dominance led to a rift between him and Solo Sikoa. Following Money in the Bank, the “Samoan Werewolf” stood alone. Sikoa claimed the United States Championship from Fatu at Night of Champions, intensifying their rivalry.

Fatu and Sikoa clashed in a Steel Cage match at SummerSlam, with the brutal showdown taking place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Sikoa managed to escape the cage and secure victory by planting his feet on the ground, sealing the win.

The two wrestlers engaged in a fierce back-and-forth battle early on.

Fatu gained some momentum with a hip attack and two moonsaults. Despite being slammed into the chain-linked cage, Fatu remained resilient. However, overcoming Sikoa was no easy feat, especially with Sikoa’s My Family Tree allies providing support. Fortunately for Fatu, Jimmy Uso came to his aid.

As Fatu watched, he ensured the gate to the outside was closed. Suddenly, he was struck with a Samoan Spike, but managed to resist staying down. Sikoa attempted to flee the cage for victory, only to be thwarted by Fatu.

Tonga Loa and Talla Tonga intervened by scaling the cage. Tonga used handcuffs to restrain Fatu at the top of the cage, but Fatu broke free and prevented Sikoa from exiting the cage. Ultimately, Sikoa managed to slip out as both wrestlers lay near the cage door.

Sikoa retained the title, marking his second successful defense since winning it.

Fatu vented his frustration on Loa and Mateo, executing a moonsault from the top of the cage onto the MFT members. It was evident that he wasn’t done with the group.
