Suspect in Montana bar shooting captured after week-long search

The individual suspected of carrying out a deadly mass shooting at a bar in Anaconda, Montana, has been apprehended after a week-long search.

45-year-old Army veteran Michael Paul Brown, who had been on the run since allegedly committing the murders of four individuals at The Owl Bar, was taken into custody early Friday afternoon. 

“The Anaconda shooter, Michael Brown, has been captured,” confirmed Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte in a statement. 

“Law enforcement officers across Montana displayed an incredible response,” he added. “We express our gratitude to all the partners involved in the search. Our thoughts are with the families of the four victims who are still mourning their loss.”

The victims of the attack were identified as Daniel Edwin Baillie, 59, Nancy Lauretta Kelley, 64, David Allen Leach, 70, and Tony Wayne Palm, 70. Kelley worked as a bartender, while the other three were patrons. All four individuals were residents of Anaconda.
