A member of Congress from Tennessee is recuperating after an accidental incident involving a horse that resulted in a broken rib over the weekend.
Sources confirmed that Rep. Tim Burchett, representing Tennessee as a Republican, is currently feeling well and his schedule remains unchanged.
“While tending to his farm during the weekend, Congressman Burchett was unintentionally kicked by a horse,” according to a statement from spokesperson Will Garrett. “He sustained a broken rib and bruising but has not missed any of his responsibilities.”

Burchett recounted to Fox News correspondent Chad Pergram that a horsefly landing on his horse’s tail spooked the animal, leading to the kick that left him with a broken rib.
The congressman, displaying a positive attitude, mentioned that he received a unique battle scar from the incident.

“It’s a cool mark,” Burchett shared with Pergram. “I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo.”
Despite making light of the situation, Burchett acknowledged the seriousness of the situation as the doctor informed him he was fortunate the kick did not cause more severe injuries.
The 60-year-old congressman previously served as the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.

Burchett addressed a gathering in Maury County, Tennessee, on Monday evening and has a busy schedule of district events planned for the week.
As of now, Burchett’s office has not responded to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
