Tom Brady teases Jets during statue unveiling speech

Retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady returned to Foxborough, Massachusetts, where he spent two decades of his career. Brady was present for a statue-unveiling ceremony before the New England Patriots kicked off their 2025 preseason. A 12-foot bronze statue in Brady’s likeness was revealed near the entrance of the team’s Hall of Fame at Patriot Place, just beyond Gillette Stadium’s gates.

Brady became the first player in franchise history to receive such an honor with a statue. Longtime Patriots team owner Robert Kraft commissioned the sculpture.

During the ceremony, Kraft praised Brady, saying, “Tommy, you have not only etched your name in NFL history. You’ve etched it in all our hearts. And now your likeness will forever stand tall here at Gillette Stadium, just like you did — standing tall, poised, and laser-focused. People may forget what’s said tonight, but may this statue forever remind us what Tom Brady did and how he made us all feel.”

The statue depicts Brady’s celebratory pose with his fist raised, capturing his iconic image. The facial expression on the statue mirrors Brady’s focused demeanor during his NFL games.

In his speech, Brady acknowledged his teammates and emphasized the importance of teamwork in achieving success. He also humorously took a dig at the New York Jets, a rival team of the Patriots, during the ceremony.

Brady, known for his exceptional career with the Patriots, won six of his seven Super Bowl titles with the team. After a successful stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady returned to New England for his Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony in June 2024.
