A tragic event unfolded as a newlywed couple’s life took a devastating turn when the husband and their 1-year-old daughter lost their lives in a fiery head-on collision while returning from their honeymoon.

Macey’s mother, Leigh Ann Payne-Weisser, shared on Facebook, “Macey, Hunter, and Oakleigh were in a terrible car crash on their way back from their honeymoon in Pigeon Forge.”

She further mentioned that Macey was being treated for her injuries at the burn unit of the University of Louisville Hospital.

“Hunter and Oakleigh have passed away and are now in a better place. Please keep Macey and our families in your prayers,” she requested.

According to Kentucky State Police, the tragic incident occurred on July 26, when a Ford F-150 crossed the center line on Kentucky Route 261 in Breckinridge County and collided with a Chevrolet Silverado, causing both vehicles to catch fire.

The authorities confirmed that Hunter Lyons, 22, and a 1-year-old child traveling with him were pronounced dead at the scene.

This tragic event unfolded merely a week after the couple’s wedding on July 19, as indicated on their online wedding page.

An obituary described Hunter as an active member of Constantine Missionary Baptist Church who enjoyed singing and playing guitar during services, as well as outdoor activities like hunting, horseback riding, and riding his 4-wheeler.

The couple’s daughter, just 1 year old, was remembered for her radiant smile and sassy personality.

The driver of the F-150, Joseph Maynard, 48, from Owensboro, also lost his life in the tragic accident, as per the authorities.
