Trump administration focuses on arresting criminal illegal immigrants

Immigration authorities carried out arrests on Tuesday of some of the most dangerous illegal immigrant criminals in the country, as the Trump administration continues its focus on deporting criminal illegal immigrants. 

A minimum of five men who were arrested had prior convictions for various crimes.

Cristian Brayan Aleman-Leiva, Jose Javier Romero-Hernandez, Juan Ignacio Amaya-Hernandez, Elin Edicson Ochoa-Hernandez and Manuel De Jesus Lopez-Marroquin have all been convicted of various crimes, as stated by the Department of Homeland Security. These five individuals were apprehended in immigration operations on Tuesday.  (ICE)

“Each of these individuals left behind a victim – scarred, addicted, terrified, and worse,” expressed Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “The Biden administration turned a blind eye. Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, we are removing these criminals from the streets. DHS will continue to promptly arrest, detain, and deport the most dangerous criminal illegal aliens— Americans deserve to feel secure in their own country.” 

Among the individuals arrested on Tuesday was Cristian Brayan Aleman-Leiva, originating from El Salvador, who had convictions in Virginia for possession of a firearm, concealed weapon, and petit larceny.

Jose Javier Romero-Hernandez, a citizen of Mexico, was convicted of first-degree burglary, domestic assault and battery by strangulation, domestic assault with a dangerous weapon, threatening an act of violence, and malicious injury or destruction of property in Oklahoma. 

In Texas, Juan Ignacio Amaya-Hernandez, also from Mexico, was convicted of indecency with a child, authorities reported.

Elin Edicson Ochoa-Hernandez, from Honduras, was convicted in Texas for alien smuggling.  Manuel De Jesus Lopez-Marroquin, from Guatemala, was convicted in New Jersey of distribution of heroin, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and hindering.

The Trump administration has increased efforts targeting illegal immigrants with criminal backgrounds, especially in cities like Los Angeles, where local officials have called for an end to the raids. 

“In L.A., we are focused on apprehending the most dangerous individuals,” stated Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem during an appearance on “Hannity” in June. “They are murderers. They are individuals involved in assault, human trafficking, and drug trafficking, causing devastation in these communities for years.” 

“Those are the individuals we are pursuing,” she added.
