President Donald Trump announced on Saturday his nomination of U.S. State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce to serve as the next deputy representative to the United Nations.

“I am excited to nominate Tammy Bruce, a dedicated Patriot, Television Personality, and Bestselling Author, as our next Deputy Representative of the United States to the United Nations, with the rank of Ambassador,” the president shared on social media.

“Since the start of my Second Term, Tammy has been performing admirably as Spokesperson of the State Department, where she excelled. Tammy Bruce will represent our Country with excellence at the United Nations. Congratulations Tammy!”

Bruce has supported the Trump administration’s immigration policies and its stance on the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza.

Just last week, she cautioned Russia on Fox News that it must take Trump “seriously” regarding his ceasefire deadline.

Bruce has been part of the administration since the beginning of Trump’s term.

Prior to her role as State Department spokesperson, she was a well-known conservative commentator and contributor to media outlets.

Upon selecting her for the State Department, Trump described her as a “highly respected political analyst who understood the power and importance of ‘MAGA’ early on.”
