Two teens arrested for brutal beating of DOGE staff in DC

Authorities have reported the arrest of two teenagers in connection with the brutal beating of a former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) employee that allegedly occurred during an attempted carjacking in Washington, D.C., over the weekend.

A 15-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl from Hyattsville, Md., now face charges of unarmed carjacking, according to the Washington D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department. The identities of the suspects were not disclosed as they are juveniles.

Police mentioned that the investigation is ongoing, with several suspects still at large.

The victim, Edward Coristine, who goes by the nickname “Big Balls,” was attacked by a group of teenagers in the city’s Logan Circle neighborhood around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday. The teens tried to carjack him and a woman identified as his significant other by the police.

Coristine pushed the woman into the vehicle for safety and faced the group. Some of the teens then assaulted him until nearby officers intervened. The teens fled the scene on foot as the officers approached.

Coristine, a prominent figure in the Department of Government Efficiency under former President Donald Trump, was left injured in the attack, as shown in a photo shared by the president on his Truth Social platform.

The assault led Trump to threaten to take over Washington, D.C., and prosecute local minors and gang members over the age of 14 as adults.

Elon Musk, former head of DOGE, also commented on the incident, emphasizing the need for federalization of Washington, D.C.

The president expressed concerns that criminals in the city are not afraid of the consequences, indicating a need for stricter measures to ensure safety and security.

Washington, D.C., must be a safe and attractive place for all, and if necessary, federal intervention may be required to maintain law and order.
