A letter allegedly written by Woody Allen to Jeffrey Epstein described the atmosphere of Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse as reminiscent of “Castle Dracula.” The letter, reportedly given to Epstein by Allen in 2016 for his birthday, commended Epstein for hosting diverse and interesting guests at his elaborate dinner parties.
Allen mentioned in the letter that he and his wife, Soon-Yi, were frequent guests at Epstein’s seven-story, 21,000-square-foot residence. The acclaimed director praised the variety of guests, which included politicians, scientists, teachers, magicians, comedians, intellectuals, journalists, and more. He also commented on the sumptuous and abundant food served at the events.
However, Allen noted that the quality of the meals improved over time due to his wife’s insistence. Initially, the dinners were described as meager, but after some modifications, they became more traditional and enjoyable. Despite the grandeur of the setting, Allen humorously compared Epstein’s home to Castle Dracula, alluding to its large size and eerie ambiance.
The relationship between Allen and Soon-Yi, who is also the adopted daughter of Mia Farrow, has been controversial due to their significant age difference. Allegations of sexual abuse against Allen by his adoptive daughter, Dylan Farrow, have been denied by the director.
Jeffrey Epstein, who was facing federal charges related to sex trafficking of minors, was found dead in his jail cell in 2019. His associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, is currently serving a 20-year sentence for similar charges. Maxwell’s recent transfer to a different prison has sparked legal challenges regarding the release of grand jury transcripts in her case. The Department of Justice had requested the material following President Donald Trump’s call for Attorney General Pam Bondi to address public concerns about the DOJ’s decision to withhold information about the Epstein case.
Trump, who was connected to Epstein’s social circle, had previously downplayed calls for more information about Epstein’s case after the financier was accused of sex trafficking and sexual abuse of underage women in 2019.
However, renewed scrutiny on Trump’s ties to Epstein led him to change his stance and suggest that the DOJ release relevant information, despite claiming that some files were fabricated by Democrats.
